Newby Foundries use state of the art high-speed computers, along with the most advanced software to enable our methods and design engineers to accurately simulate both the flow of molten metal within the mould cavity, and the subsequent solidification characteristics.

This is an invaluable tool in minimising pattern development time and ensuring a “Right first time” methoding solution. Using solidification software, shrinkage porosity, cold laps and misrun can be identified and quickly resolved before any metal is poured. This saves time and cost in the pattern, mould and casting process.

Our in house casting design team provides informed advice on casting design, materials and process selection. We can identify from the onset of your project, the optimum casting solution and minimise the lead time to market. Using Solidworks™ software, we can take your existing designs and modify them to achieve the best possible casting while saving you time and money. We can typically achieve many features in castings which negate machining and therefore reduce cost and finishing time.

Data Exchange

We accept files in IGES, STL, STEP, DWG and Solidworks native format.

We can process 2D data either from AutoCAD or scanned drawings in JPG, TIF, PNG or BMP format.

We can accept other file types but please check with us first.

When sending files, please save them to a ZIP file if possible. This helps reduce file sizes and means you can send more to us faster.

When sending over e-mail please send to prod.design@newbyfoundries.co.uk.

Currently our maximum file size is 2MB. Please contact us if files our larger, so we can arrange alternative means of data exchange.
