Advantages of rapid prototyping

  • Short development cycles- Physical models can be produced in a few days, reducing time to market.
  • Low development costs- Prototypes can be produced before any commitment to costly tooling.
  • Accurate feedback- Communicate your design intentions to your clients, toolmakers, and other departments easily and effectively and ensure the finished product is fully developed.

Rapid prototype casting

Our additional advantages
  • Variety of materials- By using multiple techniques across our foundries and suppliers, we can offer products not only in iron and steel, but also in non-ferrous metals and other materials.  These include grey and SG irons, speciality irons, steel, aluminium, brass, bronze, zinc, magnesium, ABS, resin and composite powder.
  • Range of sizes and weights- We have access to various casting processes.  This enables us to produce products from 1g to 500kg and above, and also allows us to select the right process for your casting.
  • Speed of service- By using a mix of high speed CNC tooling, 3D printed tooling and RP masters, we can cut days and weeks out of the production process.  This allows for quicker design revisions and therefore a quicker time to market or a further developed product.
  • Low cost- As we qualify each design based on the needs of the customer, we can tailor a process to provide a cost effective method of production.  For one off and short runs, we can save time and money by using printed sand moulds. For medium volumes, we can use printed or resin patterns for speed and low cost.
  • Various levels of production- We can produce a rapid prototype within a few days and develop it through to production at one of our foundries or sub-contractors.
